Food Allergy Canada is the national charity, with education, allergy alerts, school resources and support groups. Allergies Québec offers a free support line in French and English. The Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology has a find-an-allergist directory, and the Canadian Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Foundation funds research.
What's the difference between FARE and Food Allergy Canada?
Both are national food allergy charities: FARE works in the US, funding research and running education and advocacy, and Food Allergy Canada does the same for Canadians. Their guides often overlap, but school rules, food labels and medication options differ between the two countries.
How do I find an allergist?
In Canada, use the CSACI's find-an-allergist directory or ask your family doctor for a referral. In the US, the AAAAI and the ACAAI both have allergist finders, and the AAAAI's covers Canada too.
Knowledge helps. So does a plan for the moment it matters.
A tap on the ResQBand Tap Card opens your emergency steps and a Call 911 button on most phones, and the helper can alert your emergency contacts with one more tap. The kit adds a tracker, a temperature disc and a thermal pack for your epinephrine.
General information, not medical advice. We link to other organizations' resources; we don't control them, and a listing isn't an endorsement. Something out of date or missing? Email info@westernallergy.com. In an emergency, use epinephrine and call 911.
