Does it alert me from anywhere?
It is Bluetooth, not WiFi. Your phone gets alerts and syncs the log whenever it is in range, up to about 80 m in the open, and the sensor keeps recording on its own the rest of the time. Open the app when you are back with the kit and the history fills in.
How is this different from Locate?
Locate is a Find My and Find Hub tag that answers where the kit is. Temp records how hot or cold the kit got. They ride in the case together and each does one job well.
Which app does it use?
The free Govee Home app on iPhone or Android. Pair once over Bluetooth; the alert range you set is yours, so use the storage range printed on your medication's label.
