How we write and check our articles

Who writes them

ResQBand is made by Western Allergy Services Ltd., a family-run Canadian allergy company founded in 1972. Our answers and articles come from that experience: the questions families ask us most, what we have seen work, and what we have seen go wrong. Each page names its author.

How every page is checked

Before a page goes live it is fact-checked by Western Allergy Services Ltd.: every medical fact is checked against the sources listed at the end of the page, such as Health Canada product monographs and notices, published research, and guidance from Canadian allergy organizations. The page shows who checked it and when.

When a product, its monograph or the guidance changes, we update the page, and its “last updated” date shows it.

What they are not

Our pages are fact-checked, not clinically reviewed. They are general information about allergies, epinephrine and our products, not medical advice, and they don't replace your allergist, doctor or pharmacist. When a page includes a clinician's view, it names them and says so.

Our products

We sell ResQBand products and, through a licensed Canadian pharmacy partner, neffy and EpiPen. When a page mentions something we sell, it links to it so you can see the details. Nobody pays us to mention a product.

How we use AI

We write from our own experience. We sometimes use AI tools to help organize or edit a draft, and in the ResQBand Library an AI model writes the short summaries of news and research, which are labelled as AI summaries. Every answer and article is written, checked and approved by a person before it goes live.

Corrections

If something on a page is wrong or out of date, email info@westernallergy.com with the page's address. We'll check it against the sources and correct the page.
